Planning the day out from the
'Unseen' guide books our first stop on the way was a local
Prasat Prang Ku Sanctuary between Surin and
Si Saket - off route 226 but the area between route 24 and route 226
is littered with old Kymer Ruins, take time to explore.
15.04.2005.

Then Prasat Hin Ban-Samo nearly in danger of collapse

Then on to Prasat Hin Wat Sa Kamphaeng Noi a Kymer
Temple and modern Wat where we all read our fortunes

The family day out target of the National Park and
the Kingdom of Cambodian Kymer Temple or Castle of
Preah Vihear built high up about BE 1581 on a great buff cliff
looking out onto the plains of Cambodia.
You pass from Thailand into Cambodia and walk up the Mountain
pathway but no passport required just pay 600 baht Farang price.

"Proud to be Kymer" the sign says but active
Minefields all round and people walk all over the monuments causing
continued damage

Three Temple ruins to pass through as you walk and
climb up to the top.
Go slowly, take sun protection and water with you, the children made
sure I got to the top!

Magnificent views over Cambodia and the small Kymer
Costume Wall Carvings 1500 years old
but again open to the weather and decaying badly
